Ding, ding, ding... Round two has begun. So there are some people who were pregnant around the time I was pregnant with Grayson, that are expecting their second baby. I cant say it doesn't make me start wondering if now is the right time or not. The bottom line is, it's really not the right time. Another year would be perfect, but it's so darn hard to wait till then. The one true birth control I have right now is the terrible economy we're forced to deal with. Sadly it comes right around the holidays.
Grayson has been a handful lately, so that also helps with the reasoning. Terrible twos are right around the corner, and it feels like we may not even make it to his second birthday. I'm aware the terrible twos don't just 'magically' begin on their second birthday, I was just hoping! Nevertheless, his little personality has blossomed into a rough, I'll get my way, little boy!
Thanksgiving was fantastic. Another year with the Greats, and a new addition was with Cousin Melissa. No it wasn't a baby, but her BF David.
Christmas is right around the corner. I'm almost ready, although I have the most important things left to take care of. Family pictures, Santa and Christmas cards. Oh what a headache that was last year!!! I'll be sure not to wait till December 20th!

has anyone seen my baby?
We are slowing creeping up to the year and a half mark. I swear every time I blink my eyes this kid is 6 months older and 6 inches taller. It's insane how fast time flies when you're having fun.
Grayson is growing in more ways than just height. He has began to form sentences that at least mommy can decipher. "Mama, where's da ball?" "Put it bat (back)" "Bye-Bye Dada, love you" and of course "Where you Max" We can see our neighbors backyard from Grayson's bedroom window, and every morning we check to see if he's out there. We've only seen him twice, but Grayson still checks... every morning!
The walking has stopped. He has replaced it with running, jumping and climbing. Mommy bought a stool so he can brush his teeth at the bathroom sink. He thinks it's so he can help turn the lights on and off. He especially likes to do this when daddy is shaving!
Grayson just got back from another weekend at Grammie and Papal's house, while mommy and daddy were in Napa. My mom didn't tell me till I returned home, but apparently Grayson woke the second night crying for his mama... "I want my mama!" Isn't that the saddest? No more two night trips for us!
We are however taking another vacation next week. This one is a family vacation. Our first camping trip with Grayson. We're headed to the Russian River with the Maya family, and I am more than excited. I can barely wait! I wish we were leaving tomorrow... welllllll, maybe not tomorrow. I still have a lot of stuff to do till Sunday.
Hopefully I'll remember to post after camping. Till then!

tantrums or bad habits?
So far the new nanny situation has been working out great. Grayson has not been sick since we pulled him out of Daycare the first week of March (knock on wood), and he has been walking a lot more also. I have however, noticed some new habits Grayson may be picking up from the other girls that the nanny also watches. He has began to have little tantrums, or seems to get frustrated easier. He also grunts when we hold him, implying where he wants us to go or what he wants to pick up or touch. Uhh, uhh, uhhh... with a little mini pointed finger. A cute, little mini pointed finger, but still. Sheesh.
Nevertheless, the situation is working out. I'm sure these are all habits that can be changed, broken or tolerated. He is only 14 months old. Wow, 14 months old, that's crazy!
Grunting is not the only thing Grayson has been up to. He says dog, although it sounds more like "daw" or "da." He tries to say thank you and jump-jump, but they don't sound quite right either, but it's obvious that's what he's saying. He barks. He says Mama, Dada, Ball and a few others. Seems we should have a little chatter box before long.
Till next time...

Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun...
Hiding behind the trees. Well the weather was nice, then became cold just as the sun was shining on Grayson's face for the first time this year. We haven't had too many trips outdoors, but I know it's not far in our future.
Grayson went to Clip Joynt on Tuesday with Daddy, and Freddie gave him his first barber shop hair cut. Grayson didn't squirm too much. Luckily daddy had the camera, so we have a few cute pictures.
We got another of our one year shots yesterday, and Grayson did great. We've decided to split our MMR shots in to three separate shots, three separate visits. Since Kaiser didn't want to go along with this plan (for cost reasons of course), we've been taking Grayson to Dr Hahn's office and paying out of pocket. It's amazing the difference in care that we receive there. It not rocket science to make the switch as soon as open enrollments come around in the fall.
Other than that things are normal. Still no walking, although he has become quite crafty at waling along the walls from one place to another, and oh how many toys can I find in cabinets or drawers? I think it's time to invest in a play area for Grayson. Maybe a workbench, or a kitchen?

13 months already...
Where, oh where has the time gone? My son is rapidly morphing into a toddler faster than I could have imagined. I can barely keep up with his constant moving around. Walking is right around the corner. I guess I am blessed to have a late walker, I can already sense the chaos that will come with this new adventure.
So, we finally pulled Grayson out of daycare. Ezat was sad, but it was the right thing for him. The constant sicknesses were starting to take a toll on the whole household. We now have a new "share nanny" who we adore already. Hopefully this will be a lasting situation. Grayson seems to do well, so that's a relief.
Nap time has become a chore. Grayson loves to throw the softie out of the crib, which in turn pisses him off and keeps us on a leash. We'll see how long this lasts. I think I'm ready to rid the kid of the softie... I'll make sure to update you on that! :)

what was I thinking? five months without posting...
So much has happened since September. For Halloween, Grayson was a monkey. Halloween fell on a Wednesday, so my mom got the pleasure of spending the day with him. She said he looked like the kid from The Christmas Story when she put the full body outfit on him. He could barely move and didn't like it much.
Thanksgiving was great. We went to Grammie and Papal's house and ate food with all the great's! Grayson had some sweet potatoes, and then was ready for a nap!
Christmas was busy. Grayson received a lot of presents. Too many toys, clothes and some other great gifts. I think his favorite present was the wrapping paper and boxes. I told our family not to spend money, I knew he was easy!
Grayson finally started crawling on New Year's Eve. He spent the night with Grammie and Papal and when he came home, he was on the run. Things have been very active since then. He gets in to things more, and the bumps and bruises are plentiful!
This Tuesday we went with Grandma Sheida to the Lafayette Resevoir. The sun was out and the birds were chirping. Grayson had so much fun, he didn't want to go home!
...next month he'll be one! I still cant believe it's almost been a year. I just dont know where the time has gone. It's hard enough to post about his achievements already... I can only imagine how fast this next year will go.
