We are happy to announce that Grayson will be a big brother this February. He is patiently awaiting the arrival of his baby sister, Ariana. We have already started to make room for Ariana in the house so Grayson will be comfortable with sharing his space with her. We are slowly transitioning him to his "big boy bed" and will eventually convert the crib back for a newborn. It does make me a little sad to know he is so big he doesn't really need his crib anymore... although I don't know if I like the fact that he can wake me at 6am to watch cartoons! (I made him go back to sleep for another hour)
Starting over with another baby is exciting and overwhelming. I just love how self sufficient Grayson is and can barely remember when he was a newborn. Plus, we just got potty training down! Now we're gonna start allll over!
Regardless of those minor setbacks, we are so pleased for Ariana to complete our family. Grayson is growing more and more fond of her each day and I truly believe he will be a fantastic big brother!

Turning a new leaf...
In June of this year I decided to take a risk and leave the security of my 12 year job with Bank of America. After much consideration it seemed like the only thing that would keep me sane. It has turned out to be the best decision I have made in a long time. The time I have spent with Grayson has been invaluable and he is such a great kid to be around. He has grown in to such a big boy, and just can't believe it at times.
The past week has been great and Grayson has made me a proud mama. We were scheduled to see Dr Bergen and get Grayson's H1N1 and seasonal flu shots. Even with two shots he didn't flinch once! He looked at me and said, "I don't like flu shots." When we got home I noticed an unusual quiet in the house. It didn't take me long to realize he was in our downstairs bathroom with the door shut. He had taken himself to the bathroom all by himself!!! Without any help! He doesn't even need his mama anymore??

Grayson's 1st trip on BART
Today my parents and I took Grayson on a trip to Westfield Mall in San Francisco via the BART train. He was excited and inquisitive about the journey. Since he had seen a bunny the night before that the Magician had at Maureen's surprise birthday party, that was all he could talk about. He was certain one of the many stores in the multi-story mall would have a bunny for him. "Bunny, bunny? Papal, bunny?"
For lunch he nibbled on calamari and fish and chips. I wasn't surprised he liked either, they were deep fried. He clearly has his daddy's taste buds.
Daddy returned later in the evening from his fishing trip. He didn't have any luck catching fish, but didn't come home empty handed. Fortunately the guys were nice enough to give Hooman two halibut for dinner! Of course I'll have to wait till he wakes from his nap to try them!
That's it for now.

Grayson turns two, and our trip to Tahoe!
My little baby is a toddler. Actually he's a big boy. A polite, well maanered, big boy! Grayson's 2nd birthday was a blast. The catering was great. The bouncy house was a hit and the turnout was massive! The sun shined for most of the day, despite nighttime rains and morning clouds.
Right now we're on our way to Tahoe to spend a fun, family weekend in the snow with the Maya's and the Bautista's
